29 November 2019 - FARE was at the 14th Conference on Rationale Fertilization and Analysis

This conference was jointly organized by the French Committee for the Study and Development of Rationale Fertilization (COMIFER) and the French Group of Methodological Studies for Soil Analysis (GEMAS) and took place on 20 and 21 November 2019 in Dijon.

This year, these biennial conferences brought together more than 400 research and development experts working in a wide variety of organizations on the following themes: Public policies and regulations; Organic residual products: towards the circular economy; Organic Matter: characterisation, mineralisation, modelling; biological soil indicators; fertilisation... new fronts; Nitrogen gas losses; Reasoning and management of nitrogen fertilisation.

Céline Jacqueton, apprentice engineer, presented a poster on her "Open science" project aiming to collect and share data on the decomposition of plant litter; Pascal Thiébeau, assistant engineer, presented a poster on the characterization and evolution of hemp mulch during retting in the field, while Sylvie Recous, Research Director, presented an oral presentation on crop residue mulches, their functioning and impacts on the carbon and nitrogen cycles.
